Over the past 3 years, AEROCAMPUS Aquitaine has combined many partners and a wide range of skills which are now recognised by all major groups (Dassault aviation, Airbus Helicopters training Services, Airbus Group, Telespazio, Saft, etc.)
To meet requests from the maritime sector on a large number of subjects (recruitment, expertise in composite materials, expertise in interior outfitting, etc.) and against the backdrop of a dynamic regional environment with regard to projects related to river and maritime activities (maintenance of river cruise ships, luxury yacht refit cluster, project related to the submarine base, preservation of industrial activities around wet docks, etc.), AEROCAMPUS Aquitaine has decided to place its skills and its ability to federate a large number of partners at the service of the maritime sector.
In 2014, AEROCAMPUS Aquitaine made the decision to join Arnaud Boissières and embark upon the adventure of the Route du Rhum 2014, on board his 40-feet boat named “AEROCAMPUS, du Rhum au Globe” with the goal of creating real connections between the aviation and maritime worlds.
For AEROCAMPUS Aquitaine, providing support to a sailor from the Aquitaine region gives a concrete expression to values shared between the aviation and ocean racing worlds in terms of innovation, new technologies, passing on experience, etc.
Today, the objective is to combine know-how from the aviation and maritime sectors in order to train our young people and our industries, with the aim to open a real maritime cluster in the future and, above all, to make the best boat for the Vendée Globe 2016 race.
